This year Family Builder’s hosted our very first Father’s Day Festival at Scissortail Park. With most of our clients being fathers, we decided to do something special for them to honor their role. We had 19 vendors, inflatables for the children, OKC fire departments touch a truck, raffle giveaways, and more! It was a great celebration for the fathers that we serve in our community.
Thank you to our sponsors who helped us host this event free of charge to the public: Johnson & Biscone, PA, Tinker Federal Credit Union, Atomic, Courtney Zamudio, Love’s Travel Stops, American Fidelity, Bath Fitters, Joe Cooper Auto Group, WealthTrust Oklahoma, Jeffrey McEligot, Hideaway Pizza, Science Museum, Okie Express carwash, Wheeler District Ferris Wheel, Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Incredible Pizza, Whiskey Cake, Ted’s Escondido, Home Depot, Lowes, and Harry’s Appliance.
We raised $9,937, and we received a donation of 32 toys to upgrade our parent-child observation rooms. We are beyond appreciative of every one of you. If you couldn’t make it this year, mark your calendars for next year!
This month is also Men’s Health Month. When discussing men’s health, it is important to remember that mental health is a huge factor in keeping your overall health intact. The pressures of taking care of and providing for your family can overwhelm the average father; then, when you put them in a situation where they are fighting to keep their families together, it can become even more challenging. We wanted this Father’s Day Festival to be a low-barrier, stress-free celebration for all of the hard work they put in to make it all happen. When someone decides to improve themselves and unlearn toxic behaviors to create a better future for their children, they deserve to be celebrated.
We will be hosting our FREE annual luncheon on Thursday, August 19th, 2021 at Oklahoma City University Law Center from 11:30 am-1 pm. We will be honoring the Priebe family as our Family of the Year!
